…a creative and hopefully energetic re-imagining of the house…
Our clients purchased this foreclosed property and asked us to help them reconfigure the interior spaces and transform the exterior appearance. The properties three rental units were maintained as such with only additional space being a small studio off of the upper unit (which their son is now living in) as well as a series of connected decks and porches. This project was not intended to be a “Historic Restoration” but rather a creative and hopefully energetic re-imagining of the house; it’s form and character, in a history-laden neighborhood. It’s a great example of what can happen to a derelict property when a concerned and engaged neighbor gets involved and “takes a leap of faith”. It is a welcome antidote to the “flipping” we have seen of late in and around our core neighborhoods.
