Portland Avenue Whole House
The client’s recent move from the Southwest prompted us to remodel their dank, leaching limestone basement into warm haven inspired by the tones and textures of Santa Fe. We lowered the floor four inches for a little more headroom and stained the new slab concrete a sun-drenched russet. Piercing blue wall panels and sliding closet doors brought the sky home, as did a sun-tunnel skylight dawning above the new bathroom. On the main level, we added a 12’x4’ mudroom addition and opened the compartmentalized Victorian kitchen into a sage-toned family-scape ideally suited for sharing food, stories and companionship.
